UAE Golden Visa Documents Checklist by Applicant Category

UAE Golden Visa documents depend on the applicant category. Most files include identity and status records, but the decisive evidence changes by route: property records for investors, employment and education evidence for professionals, financial proof for company owners, and project approval for entrepreneurs. Use this checklist to prepare, then confirm the live requirements with the receiving authority.

Important: This checklist was reviewed on 8 June 2026. ICP, GDRFA Dubai, land departments and nominating authorities may request different or additional documents. A Golden Visa is residence, not citizenship.

Does the document need attestation, recognition or translation?

MoFA attestation confirms signatures and official seals. MoFA's current service requires an original document in Arabic or English, or a legal translation, and prior certification by the appropriate governing bodies. Digital attestation is available only for eligible UAE-issued digital documents with a verification mechanism; other documents use the applicable courier or mission process (UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Follow this order to avoid paying for the wrong process:

  1. Ask the receiving authority which document and process it requires.
  2. Confirm issuing-country certification for foreign documents.
  3. Complete UAE mission and MoFA steps where applicable.
  4. Obtain legal translation into Arabic or English if required.
  5. Check whether academic recognition is required separately from attestation.

Capitals28 attestation and legal-translation services can assist with preparation within the stated service scope.

Do the names, dates and values match?

Genuine documents can still form a weak application when they contradict one another. Compare:

  • passport name against degrees, title deeds, company and bank records;
  • current passport number against older certificates;
  • property value and ownership share across title, valuation and lender letters;
  • employer, title and salary across contract, certificate, work record and statements;
  • company name, licence number, capital and owner share across corporate records;
  • tax periods and amounts across accounts, returns and FTA evidence;
  • project name, founder and value across the business plan, audit and nomination.

Do not alter an official record informally to make it match. Use lawful correction, amendment, linking or explanatory evidence.

Complete this audit before submission

  • Determine the correct applicant category.
  • Download the current authority checklist.
  • Mark each document as ready, pending, expired or not applicable.
  • Confirm required nominations and authority letters.
  • Verify attestation, translation and recognition separately.
  • Reconcile names, identifiers, dates, values and ownership percentages.
  • Check file format, scan quality and page completeness.
  • Keep originals available where the service requires them.
  • Retain submission receipts and final copies.
  • Recheck requirements immediately before filing.

How should you package the final submission?

Create one indexed folder for identity records and a second for route-specific evidence. Use clear filenames such as 01-passport, 02-current-visa and 10-property-status-letter rather than camera-generated names. Keep complete documents together; do not upload selected pages from a contract, statement or certificate unless the service expressly asks for an extract.

For each file, check:

  • every page is visible and upright;
  • seals, signatures, QR codes and verification details are readable;
  • Arabic and English translations are paired with the correct original;
  • the latest version is clearly distinguished from superseded records;
  • filenames do not contain misleading labels or unsupported claims;
  • confidential records are shared only through the intended authority or adviser channel.

MoFA distinguishes eligible digital documents from paper documents that require the applicable submission or courier process. A scan of a paper certificate does not become an officially verifiable digital document merely because it is uploaded online (UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Keep a matching offline archive of everything submitted, including application forms, payment receipts, authority correspondence and replacement documents. This makes it easier to answer a request for clarification without rebuilding the file.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there one universal Golden Visa checklist?

No. Identity records overlap, but qualifying evidence is route- and authority-specific.

How recent must bank statements or letters be?

Use the period specified by the receiving service. GDRFA Dubai currently specifies six months of salary-transfer statements for its skilled-worker route; other records may have different freshness rules.

Must every foreign document be translated?

Not necessarily. MoFA accepts originals in Arabic or English, or legal translations. The receiving authority may impose additional language requirements.
